Oshiomhole’s wife fetes IDPs. (See Pics)

It was fanfare and celebration yesterday at the Internally Displaced Persons Camp at Uhogua near Benin City as Mrs Iara Oshiomhole, wife Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State Governor, celebrated with the IDPs as part of activities to mark her husband's 7th year anniversary as Governor. Mrs. Oshiomhole who got to the camp as early as 10:00am spent several hours with the internally displaced persons, as she joined them in the several exciting games and other interesting activities she organized for them. Speaking to the displaced persons, she said: “It is my pleasure to be here with you. I am very happy to be back and to see you all again. "As I promised the last time I was here, I promised to come back and to get to know the children a little bit better. Today is that day and that is exactly what we are doing. Our goal for today is just to have fun, talk with the children, play with the children and enjoy ourselves. See more after the cut..

"We are here to celebrate my husband's 7th year anniversary in office”, assuring the displaced persons of Government’s continuous support and commitment to their welfare. She said, "the government of Edo State is very aware of the circumstances that made you all leave your homes. We hope that soon, Nigeria will be safe all over so we can all return to our various homes. "However, while waiting for that day, the government of Edo State will do its best to make the camp a more enjoyable one for you.  Mrs. Oshiomhole expressing satisfaction with the upkeep and talent exhibited by the displaced children at the different games and activities saying, "what impressed me the most is that the kids are so talented. They can dance, they can do a lot of things. I have not seen kids like these before, they are so talented. I am sure that no matter what, they can be the best in life.

"If you look at them, seeing how talented they are, with the things they can do now, I am sure in the future they can do so much more with good education.” In his address of welcome, Coordinator of the Camp, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho thanked the Wife of the Governor for her continuous show of love and commitment to the welfare of the children. Pastor Folorunsho said, "Today is a very big day for us and the children are prepared to receive our mama. We want to say a big welcome to you. "This week marks the Comrade Governor's 7th year anniversary in office and we are celebrating him and joining him to celebrate.”  While the younger children had fun on the bouncing castle, the older ones played volley ball, table tennis even as others took part in educational games, creative games, musical games, recreational games, dancing competition and cultural dance among others. Several gift items were presented to the displaced persons by Mrs Oshiomhole just as they ate to their fill.
