“The rainy season is always an opportunity for terrorist groups and extremist movements like that to hide in the forests to perpetrate the atrocities they commit in the Sahara, Sahel and Savanah zone.
“When the rainy season is over, it makes the movement of the military much easier and we expect to see a very aggressive approach against Boko Haram this coming dry season,” he said. Nigerian and Chadian forces early in 2015, forced the militant group which has sworn allegiance to Islamic State, to cede large swathes of territory in northern Nigeria.
